My favorite back to school tradition...

....Well, one of them at least!

That was then....

This is now!

Meet the Teacher/Back to School

The week before school started my parents came to keep the kids so I could go back to work. They are a real life saver and we are so thankful that Mimi and Papa come and spend great time with the boys while helping us celebrate another New School Year!

Here are Lu and B running up the "deck" to Lu's portable. When you go to a SUPER OVERCROWDED school, you get to put up portables after only 3 years! He says the portable is nice and quiet except when there are kids out at recess - then he can hear everything! I hope his sweet teacher can keep his attention!

Here we are at Meet the Teacher in B's new classroom. He got an awesome teacher and he has some good friends in his class. All is well!

The morning of the first day of school is always the same. We walk the boys in to their classooms. I know that soon they will not want us anywhere near them, so I am thankful that they still allow us the honor of being by their side at least the very first day! This is B with Mimi and Papa in his new room! And one of the 4 of us getting ready to drop them off!

Lu with his sweet new teacher and with his Mimi and Papa. He is guaranteed to have a successful year with so much love and support!

It's Official!

....Summer is over and school is back in session! For the most part, the McIntyre's are a happy bunch with this turn of events. I like the schedule that school brings - a real reason for the kids to go to bed early and not as much fighting among the brothers. However, I miss sleeping and laying around lazily all day long.

As for the boys, they are super excited to be back at school with all friends they have missed terribly. They both got awesome teachers with good friends in each class - so good that B had to change seats on his FIRST day of school! Oh my! The 3rd grade "boy attitude" (as I call it) is starting to rear it's ugly head. He is beginning to test the limits of our home. Fun Times!

I am thrilled to return to a job I love with the best people around. I love what I do so that makes the early morning worth it!

And of course Aggie football is in full swing - and even though it appears we are in a "rebuilding" year, we wouldn't trade the excitement of game day for anything.

I will post pictures soon so you can see my - *gulp* - 2nd and 3rd graders. Where has the time gone??

Happy Labor Day tomorrow if you are lucky enough to have the day off - we will all be in school!
